Can anyone beat the Patriots??

The reigning Super Bowl champs came into week one and stomped the Pittsburgh Steelers 33-3 in Big Ben Roethlisberger’s first game without either Le'veon Bell or Antonio Brown, and they looked unstoppable. The defense put on a show and limited the Steelers to three points, Brady looked like an early MVP-candidate, and not to mention Bill Bellichek is the greatest coach of all-time. They went on to destroy the Dolphins and Jets respectively to improve to a 3-0 record.  

There are other Super Bowl favorites in the NFL, including the Browns, Rams, Chiefs, and Ravens, but none of them measure up to the Patriots. In Pittstop’s opinion, there is only one team who could possibly dethrone Brady and the crew, and that is the Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes thus far looks like the most valuable player in the league right now. He has 200 more passing yards than any other quarterback in the league, and has 10 touchdowns and zero interceptions thrown, proving he can be a back-to-back MVP winner this year. With Travis Kelce, the all-pro tight end, Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson and Tyreek Hill as your receivers, and a defense with stars Frank Clark, Tyrann Mathieu and Anthony Hitchens, this team looks deep. Maybe I’ll throw the Browns in there as a sleeper team with Baker Mayfield, OBJ, Jarvis Landry, and Kareem Hunt on offense as well as Myles Garrett and Oliver Vernon on the defensive side. 

But the Patriots are too good. Brady and Josh Gordon is enough to handle, then you have Julian Edelman and Phillip Dorsett in the slot, and an upgraded offensive-line, with a dominant defense with Stephon Gilmore and Devin Mccourty in the secondary. This might be the most dominant defense that the Patriots and Tom Brady hasn’t ever seen in a long time, they could possibly not lose a game this year. 

They now travel to Buffalo to play the 3-0 Bills, and while I predict that they will give them a run for their money, the Patriots will however, rise on top in the end. So we'll see how the season plays out, and if the Patriots can keep this up, and possibly go undefeated this year and win another ring. I hope not. I hate seeing the Patriots win every year. It’s time for a new team to rise up and take the throne. Only time will tell.
